It is an exciting time of year for anyone interested in the Arts as we are now looking forward to the DUMFRIES AND GALLOWAY Arts Festival from 25th May to 5th June and the 10th anniversary Spring Fling , the wonderful long weekend of open doors to artists' and designers' studios throughout Dumfries and Galloway. The Spring Fling 2012 Taster Exhibition is already open at Gracefield Arts Centre, less than 10 minutes' walk from the Best Western Station Hotel and a "Highlights" of Scottish Art since 1851 exhibition runs from 19th May til 1st September.

The Best Western Station Hotel is ideally located for a visit to Dumfries for whatever reason. Closeby are the Loreburn Centre, major public buildings such as Council Buildings, Police Headquarters and Courts. If you are following the Robert Burns Trail, you are a short walk away from the Globe Inn and Robert Burns' House. The Courtyard Bistro is perfectly positioned for a pre-show meal if you are going to entertainment venue DGOne or the historic Theatre Royal, which are both just round the corner, and Dumfries Music Club hold most of their concerts at St John's Church, right on our doorstep. For the first time ever, there was a Royal Burgh of Dumfries Tattoo on 21st April this year, with a great turnout despite the rain!

For guests who want to keep up their fitness regime while away from home, complimentary use of privately-owned AA Fitness Studio is offered to residents, again just 3 or 4 minutes' jog away, and we are well placed for walks and fishing on the River Nith, as well as Dumfries and County Golf Course. We also have storage for bicycles if you are cycling from John 'o' Groats to Land's End (or vice versa) or if you are in the area to do some Mountain Biking at the 7 Stanes courses.
